Oya always wears a T-shirt with the same message printed on it while traveling to different countries. She takes a photo with famous landmarks and then turns it into a postcard to send to her mother. Oya's mother does not understand English.
Oya is the eldest daughter in the family and comes from a traditional and typical Chinese family. Her mother is counting on her to find a good and stable job after her studies in Europe—a job often referred to in China as the 'Iron Rice Bowl,' symbolizing lifelong employment and security.
